SELF EVALUATION
What strengths did you bring to your mentorship/internship?
I had previous knowledge of gym exercises and the mechanics needed to perform them correctly and safely. I also had knowledge of all the equipment, both cables and free weights to ensure those who used them were doing so in the proper manner.
What were your major weaknesses? What personal qualities could you have improved during your experience?
Time management was one, as I feel I was taking longer on certain exercises that may not have necessarily needed that much attention.
Do you feel you adequately satisfied the duties expected of you by the sponsoring organization? Why or why not?
I do, as I was able to help those around and make sure they had a safe experience while in the gym. I also assisted in making sure that the weight room itself was a safe environment with equipment not lying around.
Do you feel you adequately satisfied the time requirements (150/200 clock hours) of the internship?
I do, as I was able to get all hours in the allotted time frame.
What helpful suggestions would you make to future interns/mentees in your position?
Plan out your day. I am also a soccer coach, and we had training every morning as well as office duties which took up a portion of the day.
What did you gain from your experience? How will this experience help you when you leave Tiffin University?
I gained experience on how to run a weight room and keep it safe. I also learned how to plan and implement programs and exercises for athletes and non-athletes. This will help me find a job that caters to all athletic experiences.
What overall grade do you feel you earned through your mentorship/internship experience? _________ Justify your response.
B. As I mentioned earlier, time management was a weakness and is something that I can definitely improve on to become a more efficient coach and person.
